Day 2 - Travel to Trincomalee
After breakfast at the hotel, you will travel to Trincomalee and explore the Thirukonneshwaram Temple, a unique shrine built on a rocky promontory. It was constructed under Lord Shiva's instructions, as a reward for the devotion of King Ravana. Adjacent to this temple, there's the reconstructed Sri Shankari Devi Shakthi Peedam, significant for Hindu pilgrims. The original temples were destroyed by the Portuguese.
You can also visit the healing hot wells of Kanniyai or Kanniya. Legend has it that Ravana pierced the ground with his Trishula in anger, causing hot water to gush out, and the water's temperature varies in the seven wells.
